I'm installing a roller cam and roller rockers on a RV8, my valve geo has the roller centred on the valve tip. All good here.
With the valve closed, the pushrod is inline with the valve lash adjuster..at max lift(.375" cam lift) the pushrod does sit at quite an angle. I've no experience here..would this OK..?

LS ones end up at a fair angle.

What's the geometry like, swipe pattern on top of the valve ?

Thx for yr reply.
Geo is good..see pic. To get this geo however..I've had to use 4mm pedestal spacers..which is a far bit.
I'm using LS rods with pushrod oiling..just for info.

Today's effort was to machine the side of the rollers for some extra clearance..and drilling out the holes in the head, again for clearance.

Max lift is .512 which is a far bit for a RV8.. unfortunately the push rod angle is difficult to change.

The swipe does look pretty good. What angle is the rocker/pushroad at rest ?

it looks kinda weird, as if the rocker centreline is way too high. Might be an optical illusion though

Again, I appreciate your help and responses..

I have gone over the valve geo a number of times..the imaginary line between the centre of the trunnion and the pin of the roller is parallel to the valve spring retainer at half lift. This may be hard to see in a photo.

Roller is centred..and as narrow at possible, so I'm happy with the geo..just not that I needed to raise the pedestal 4mm.

The angle of the pushrod at the rocker is something I may just have to live with.

I'm now onto my next delimma..the new double valve springs are 1.5mm wider that std..so the valve spring recess needs to be machined wider..but due to the valve guide casting sticking out, I need to grind a small boring bar to expand the diameter. Roller cams are a bit fiddly.

Not much help but who supplied the cam?
Usually they are very helpful with info on the conversion, I know the wedge shop are popular for roller cam stuff.

Almost looks like incorrect pushrod length to me with a combination of a too high centre line on the pivot point for the rocker arm.

Whats the Installed hieght of the valve spring?

Use the Scott Foxwell method to get the correct pushrod length.

A little late to the party and, being a newbie to the V8 (though not to engine builds) in the process of rebuilding/improving a Rover 3.5L V8 for my ongoing Landrover project, I'm curious as to the benefits of this conversion from the hydraulic lifters?
