Antiques Roadshow (kind of): Tall Ceramic Jar?
Discussion
Guys,
We've been emptying out Mrs 2B's folks' house recently and come across a few things which we don't know what to do with.
Here's one: a tall ornate ceramic jar, perhaps 22 inches high, including the ornate lid with a cheery bearded chappie smoking a pipe. It seems to be in excellent condition with no cracks or repairs. It could probably do with a bit of a clean but nothing serious. There are no makers marks anywhere on it.
We think it was given to Mrs 2B's family in the 1940's, possibly by German soldiers. Someone has mentioned that it might be a ginger jar or possibly a cigarette jar, but both of these are a bit hazy. Here are some photos:

Can anyone shed any light on what it is, how much it may be worth and where we could sell it (other than eBay). Thanks!
(There were a few items which we need identifying so this may be one of a few posts.)
