Look at the comparative width of them.
The new 911s are technically amazing cars, but I’ll stick to my little 997 with hydraulic steering when I fancy a fast blast up and down narrow, twisty A and B roads.
To be fair this is across all cars. The current VW Polo is bigger than my Mk2 Golf GTI 16v from back in the day, let alone the size of the current Golf.

Interesting comparison. Just goes to show the progress in chassis technology over 20 years.
Another interesting comparison would be the 930 Turbo vs 996 Carrera. Similar power and weight but reckon the newer car would win by a similar margin.
how much of it is from the tyres though? Another interesting comparison would be the 930 Turbo vs 996 Carrera. Similar power and weight but reckon the newer car would win by a similar margin.
