Suggestions for an informal one day meet Sunday 28th at Capesthorne hall , near Macclesfield , excellent venue (we were there in May) and its hosting a classic car and bike show with major Mini and Yank club attendance.

So far its myself , Swizz and Sedgy , anyone else fancy going?

And for Monday 29th the suggested venue is Thoresby Hall , North of Nottingham just off the A614 , another general classic car show at a great venue.

Think this is a deffo for me and Sedgy.......

Both these events are organised by Andrew Greenwood www.classicshows.org , I have attended his events before so can recommend them both , and they have a specific kit car display area.

Entry fee on the gate is £5 per adult with under 16's free , however if you download a booking form from the above site and send a copy to him in the post tomorrow (deadline is Friday 19th for both shows) the cost is only £2 per car for 2 adults and 2 children , a considerable saving and this includes a plaque for your vehicle.

Sorry its all a bit last minute folks but only just got the info myself ...........

Just looked at the chaps web site I am guessing I will probably have to pay full price for the new toy but no worries its a nice day out. Will e-mail him just in case.
As you say there is a classification for kit car clubs regards attending as a group of members.

So, another northern weekend for me and Dan then. Can anyone suggest a good B&B? Shame I got the insurance on a reduced mileage policy, eh?

Got to admire your enthusiasm Rizzo , just a few weeks into Jago ownership and you fancy another weekend away 250 miles North of home.

Shame we cant get a few more bums off seats while the weather is still decent.

Once we leave the show season behind us , Myself Sedgy and Swizz are going to ressurect the regular monthly meet idea but travelling much further distances to try and meet as many members as possible.

And on an even more positive note we are planning to bring back the club holiday idea for next summer , the aim being to end up somewhere in the South West which will be good news for Jon Gerry Pete and Grandad Dave , can you guys cope with a Northern Jago invasion?

Rizzo,
i'll see what i can find. If no B&B's, then travelodge kinda places should be available.

Thanks. I think 2 trips up north in one weekend might be a bit much, even for us...

We seem to get invaded every year, usually between April and September.....just remember to wear your hard hats when crossing the Tamar, it helps to deflect the pasties thrown by the wlcome committee

Perhaps on a more 'sensible note' re the Club holiday....as long as I ain't gawn Bodmin by then (and that's a distinct possibilty the way things are) then methinks that it would be great to get you guys down here for a week or two. Plenty to do, plenty to see, plenty of sand, sea, sun and surf............
Any help you want/need...just ask

Hi folks
Had the reply from the chap.
So will be at the show with my new toy.
Look forward to seeing you all there.

Panther is now at work ready for being converted to lpg (she is going to be purely lpg with no petrol on board at all).

Next in line with be Geoffrey (which is currently running single point lpg with petrol just in case).

At some point T4x4 will get the same set up so should be of interest to some of you when we take them to any shows we go to.

Re South West Club Holiday - sounds a great idea to me!

Last month Cornwall survived an invasion by a convoy of Duttons so I am sure we will survive a convoy of Jagos.

On a serious note - if we are to make a block booking at a campsite. I assume we want civilisation - toilet and shower blocks - we will need a firm commitment on the dates, and an approximate number during the winter.

There is a site at Portreath that handles a number of club bookings and people coming down to the speed events at RAF Portreath. (Do I hear V8's ears pricking up).

Weatherwise Cornwall and the SouthWest is a bit unpredictable - Often September is better than May or June In fact this year it seemed to rain all through May - June was better.

The Duttoners came down mid July - airday at RNAS Culdrose.

I would include a weekend, as nearly every weekend there is a vehicle show of some sort (some large some small) and we could get an invite to attend certainly for the smaller ones. This would raise the club's profile and I am sure would result in a few Jagos being disinterred from barns and sheds where they lie mouldering.

Shall we meet as last time round in (well adjacent to!) the garden/falconry centre car park?

Ere's a couple of maps - on the second one the top relates to the meeting place, the second to Capesthorne Hall.

Seeya there,
