All episodes now on Amazon Prime.

Was my favourite as a kid and watched a few last night. I could taste the squash and sponge cake my Mum would give me as I watched it way back!

Still found it strangely entertaining and proof that all you need to captivate an audience is some felt tip pens and a good story. I don't even think you could call it animation.

I'm also pleased that despite being a single bloke living on street full of kids he never got caught up in all that Yewtree malarky smile

Any other favoured teatime shows from the 70s and 80s?

Don't forget Rentaghost and Heidi.
A weird one I have vague memories of is 'The Phoenix and the carpet', anyone remember that?

Straight from my childhood this stuff...mostly on the Beeb, only three channels at this time.

Finger Mouse

Bill And Ben

Mary Mungo and Midge

Bagpuss

Captain Pugwash

Noah and Nelly

Willow The Whisp - voiced by the fabulous Kenneth Williams.

The Wombles

Michael Bentine's Potty Time - on STV this one, a huge favorite of mine, utter nonsense but amazing.

There will be tons more...but I liked all of the above.

Anyone remember Jamie And The Magic Torch? I was already a bit old for it when it first appeared but have a soft spot for it as my cousin drew all of the backgrounds for it...

In 1977 she gave me a tour of the animation studio (Cosgrove & Hall) and showed me the animation cells they used, thousands of them. Also in production at the time was 'Chorlton & The Wheelies' the model figures looked fantastic.

I remember a time not so long ago when Channel 4 were showing this about 1am on a Sat morning. I think they found an acid audience or similar.
