I know it's been asked before, but hopefully some up to date experiences could be helpful...

My Tesla is insured with Direct Line and it's owned by my little company... Direct Line were fine about this. The policy documents used to say something like 'vehicle not owned by policyholder', they now simply have a blank where the keeper's name should be.

A friend is buying a Tesla at the moment - through his company - and Direct Line say they don't offer insurance where the car is not owned by the policyholder. Odd.

It feels from reading around the internet that's it a bit of a lottery.

Anyone in a similar boat?

I recently insured mine through Compare The Market and they have the option for selecting that the vehicle is owned by a ltd co. The broker ended up being Quoteline and the underwriter was Prestige.

Is that a change of policy then? They definitely used to do it.

Without getting into the company car insurance thing (which I think is well dodgy) the above statement can't be correct as any car on PCH or PCP isn't owned by the policyholder.

I bet loads of people just say they own it though.

True. And my EV is owned by my company and insured for me... maybe they asked the wrong questions? No idea, I am checking.
