Currently run a 3.4 manual boxster, 39000 miles, it’s brilliant but looking at a 3.8 2008 gen1 c4s on 58k miles. I can probably get into the c4s with part exchange on mine with 3k thrown. Any thoughts on this- I know ic4s is an older car but still makes my head turn- any thoughts?.

It may depend on the sort of driving you do.

Personally I would keep your Boxster because I think it's a sharper car to drive than a 2008 911, and it suits my driving style better, and I don't need the extra size and space of a 911, and I'm not at all bothered about the prestige (perceived or otherwise) of a 911 versus a Boxster or Cayman.

But - if you've always fancied scratching the 911 itch, it's a different proposition entirely. You can always go back to one of the mid-engined Porsches if you decide you prefer what they have to offer.

There are no wrong answers here!

Sorry should have said I have had 4 previous 911”s, this is the second boxster which I think without doubt is the better car, but logic, common sense go out of the window I am afraid
