Cheaper than a Merry Fisher though...
I hope you managed to get some nice sunny boating in after your winter trials

Yes, we had a summer of use on the Trent after lockdowns. In "normal" times I would not want to repeat the experience, but it was nevertheless good fun in the circumstances.

My Merry Fisher was free, actually. I sold it for what we paid retail, after a year of use.
The Covid Effect possibly. We'll brush the other costs under the carpet of man maths; yeah I have a boat too

Good on you. And good experience for your next boat in the Med etc! Simpo Two said:

I wouldn't want another plastic day boat on a UK inland waterway, But in sunnier climes I would look at something else.
Plastic (GRP) makes an infinite deal of sense, but wherever it is, get something you can sensibly sleep on; it opens up so many more possibilities.Simpo Two said:

Sounds right.
The best example of bedding optimism is the Shetland 27, with which I'm very familiar... officially the 'dinette drops down to form double berth'. In fact it makes a bed barely 3' wide which, as supplied by the factory, collapses the moment you sit on it. It was quite a DIY challenge to address, but is still only a single.Simpo Two said:
