I have a friend who works in catering and keeps quoting alternative names for foods-so does anyone have any others ?

When we challenged our youngest’s 10 year old friend to try an oyster he built himself up by taking a deep breath and proclaimed loudly “ reveal the booger!” We laughed then but I just get a ‘look’ when I say it every time I have oysters. Those 9 years flew by….

Some years back on a local TV cookery slot, the guest chef was trying to say '...the ubiquitous green bean'. Unfortunately it came out as an amalgam of two words 'ubiquacious'.

Thus the question asked often in our house - 'Do you want some ubiquacious as a green veg?'
