Condensation

Mostly inside the rear screen (DB9), and not evident until the weather got colder, but I'm surprised to see it after the car has been left for a while because I always have the a/c on and that also dehumidifies. The a/c can pump out icy air so seems to be working well.

Is condensation - visible droplets - a known thing for these cars?

I owned a DB9 for 10 years (garaged) and never saw that

I'd be checking all the carpets in the cabin and the boot/trunk to see if any are wet. If you can lift them to check under them for damp, then even better. It's also worth checking that the rear cabin air exit vent/flap is working OK and isn't obstructed.

I’ve got an 09 v8 vantage convertible and the rear glass seems to separate where it meets the canvas

My Roadster lives outdoors, on really damp cool days then yes there can be condensation inside the window during winter months. It clears with a 30 min drive with AC on. Over winter months (from now until March) I just leave a dessicant bag in the cabin storage box. It absorbs most of the damp and keeps it dry inside. I Probably re-charge the dessicant bag (heat in microwave) every 2-3 weeks depending on weather and car usage.

Seems all OK under the cabin carpets. Boot carpet is stuck down but seems dry.

Can't see a 'rear cabin air exit vent' anywhere - where's that?

Oddly enough I saw exactly that on a Pentand Green Volante at Nicholas Mee; not yours was it? Forgot to say mine's a coupe, so no problem in that respect.

I think that might be the answer. I think the condensation is a mixture of breathing and damp ambient air, combined with a small cabin volume and big rear screen. Don't recall it being an issue with my XK 'vert, the only difference being a tiny rear screen.

you may hope its not a small coolingwater leak in the heating system, then you could also get such sort.

but also ofcourse with damp and stopping the car after a drive, you can then stop it when you put 1 or 2 cheap moist eating bags in your car when it gets colder, they can do great work.

say you have 2 in the car and when you stop and aspect it again on the inside of your front shield, put 1 bag on the dash.

such sort, not the brand, just an example.



can be as cheap as a few pounds.
some have a Brown spot which if it turns white, its 'full' then you place it say 60sec in the microwave to dry and ready for the next time.

Yes indeed, I've ordered the silica gel bag mentioned above and hopefully then all will be well
