We’re looking to book a cruise which stops in Mumbai next year. Last time the visa process was easy enough, we just got a visa agency to do the work for us.

I’m now reading that we’ll have to apply in person which seems ridiculous. Does anyone here have recent experience?

That’s what I thought. What a mad state of affairs, we’re only due to be there for a day. I’ll hold on & see if the situation changes otherwise book something different.

Are you sure you need a visa? When we did St Petersburg a few years ago providing you were on an organised tour (either ship provided or local) you didn’t need one.

Long thread about this very recently, which many (including me) contributed to. I know the search function isn't good tho.

Unless it's just changed then yes, if you need a visa for a cruise stop then you will need to go in person to get it (after completing the lengthy online process). Around £150 pp.

Apparently the e-visa has just been reinstated.
