I’ve been using Michelin twin barrel foot pumps for a number of years after they won one or more Auto Express group tests.

The 4th one failed this morning rolleyes

Any recommendations for a robust but still accurate foot pump without spending silly money?

Unless you want to fill from fully flat, I use a bicycle track pump for topping up. Works better for me, quite a few others on here go this route too.

Not cheap, but I've found the automatic Ryobi electric ones to be brilliant. Just set the pressure, press go and by the time you've taken off the next dust cap off it's at pressure. Very accurate too.

I'd been through many footpumps and none of them were accurate.

I have a Halfords twin-barrel pump, but prefer using the track pump.

12v socket doesn’t work in the car & I’m not faffing about with it again.

The Ryobi utilises the power tool batteries so can be a good buy if you have the other tools already.
Personally I'd fix the 12 volt outlet!

It's got to be a Kismet Duplex Master -thread here: https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...

I bought one on Ebay after reading the above thread and refurbished it with new seals. It's a wonderful thing, and I don't think it will ever break!

Cut 12v plug off and fit croc clips..

Or buy a 12v socket to croc clip adapter

This is the correct answer. The daddy of foot pumps.
