What is this thing above this red light?

[mck393]

[The spinner of plates]

Looks like a small Jabba the Hutt toy up there.

Or maybe a traffic sensor.

[Timothy Bucktu]

It's a day\night sensor. I guess the intensity of the lights goes down at dusk? Or there's a street light somewhere?

[Glade]

Light sensor. Clear plastic case to allow light and probably attached on a NEMA socket.

Why it has a light sensor is wierd.

Maybe communications but they normally have a pointy Ariel like on a telly tubby

[Draxindustries1]

As above, it's clear plastic to allow light through to a NEMA socket which is used for dimming purposes..

[e-honda]

Its clearly a tiny robot space alien

Incorrect, it's a homing beacon. For tiny robot space aliens.

[paintman]

Aviation obstruction lighting for the benefit of Rudolph.
Will be switched on on Xmas Eve.
