I had a screw through one of my rear tyres. Slap bang in the middle of the tyre. The lease company said they wouldn't repair it and couldn't get someone out to replace the tyre for 4 days.

I got a repair done by someone else as I needed to use the car.

I can't decide if I should still get the tyre replaced. It won't cost me anything as under maintainance, but I would end up with different wear on the rear tyres.

FYI its a Merc EQC with 5k on the clock. I guess the tyres are expensive as its a heavy car.

Thanks for any advice!

I had no idea that punctures were the responsibility of the lease company.

Do lease companies always replace rather than repair tyres?

I drove for over a year in my GTR with a repaired rear tyre, only got replaced when I wore it out (the tyre not the repair!)

If you have a maintenance agreement with the lease they do (that covers servicing and tyres)

It’s a tyre, replace it. Don’t fek about with tyres.
Especially when it’s free to do so.

Needlessly wasteful .
Although it might get a second life sold as a part worn .

Can you Guarantee the OP the tyre is 100% safe ?
I wouldn’t risk my kids, family for the sake of a few hundred quid over a repaired tyre.

Seriously, what is the risk of a "repaired tyre"?
