I can't quite work out why, but I love seeing cars with stuff on the roof, preferably properly supported on a rack. Whether it is a sofa being carried to the tip, or a kayak/bicycle on the way to an outdoors activity I just adore seeing it. I think it might just be because it looks useful and utilitarian whatever the car is

So let's see your pictures! I sadly don't have any myself, only one of my cars has ever had the ability to have a roof rack, and I don't have one for it.

Yes, it may well be some weird fetish I need to see a therapist about. biggrinwink

Funny you should post this, I've just seen a Ferrari F430 with a kayak on the roof (with some kind of roof rack I think). smile

No pictures unfortunately.

I sometimes get funny looks for transporting my EMTB with a sea-sucker!

I think I get it, on a slightly similar tip I saw a Merc E Class convertible earlier driving roof down with a big Xmas tree protruding up from the passenger seat.

Picked up a sofa not too far away the other day, had a good giggle before putting the straps on, mr bean style.

Not mine, but same model and colour, this is what I want to do to achieve peak elite, colour coded roof box, the wheels and lowering I am not fussed on, but colour coded roof boxes are a must.

Saw a classic 911 with a christmas tree strapped to the roof last weekend in Stratford. Properly cool.

I enjoyed driving my V12 S class around with a scrubby nasty roof box

I'm with you OP, although the "scene" VWs with an old suitcase etc are a bit try hard. We regularly have a couple of kayaks on the roof, but not being a rack fetishist I don't have any photos.

Is that roof box made from osmium?

Helped a mate pick up a Westfield chassis, complete with front suspension/steering in etc. We used a Berlingo standard roof rack to strap it to.Back in our silly days.

The large bits for 2 double wardrobes from ikea.
Well ratchet strapped down so no issues on the motorway home.
Never go to ikea with your OH. It’s almost as expensive as going to Costco..

Stuck 5 mountain bikes on the roof rack for a trip to Le Mans a few years ago.

Trailer had a lot of camping gear in it.
Was a great trip although 22 mpg for 2000 miles was a sore one for the wallet… hehe

Both the S4 Avant and MK7 Golf R Estate are very well proportioned, the latter looks especially good with a roof box on!

Was the grey R for sale a few months ago? I could have sworn I saw one like it on Autotrader..
