I understand evidence needs to be provided for 20yrs of unchallenged uninterrupted use. What sort evidence? Is a statement from locals sufficient, or is something more concrete required?

From my limited understanding it certainly helps, when we were looking at doing a similar thing we were advised not to set up a generic letter that people just added their address to. We were also asked to provide photo's with EXIF data of people using the area.

From my limited understanding it certainly helps, when we were looking at doing a similar thing we were advised not to set up a generic letter that people just added their address to. We were also asked to provide photo's with EXIF data of people using the area.

I suppose that helps build a picture, so to speak, but exif data is so easy to edit it can’t really be trusted.

No but that doesn't mean don't try. Try the Ramblers Association for some guidance

Yes of course EXIF data can be manipulated, as can photos themselves, but as most people don't, then at least it's something to prove a point.
