More Rap Doofae...

...whilst contemplating the geo-political import of the culture of rap, one luminary I keep observing when esconsing by the idiot lamp is the one they call [i]50 Cent[/i]; this guy is a case study par excellence.
Not only conforming to but elevating all the stylistic cues to new and heady heights of vulgarity, this slightly lingual grunter's piece de resistance occurs whenever he utters forth an attempt at verbal creation.
He is [i]literally[/i] impossible to understand [I am intrigued to hear his theories on global warming and such like {b1tch}] and when you factor in the obligatory blips which seems to punctuate the landscape of contemporary rap ghettoricary [Eminem, Snoop Dogg et al], the frustration is almost complete.
Indeed, I think we need a campaign to promote thorough electrocution of the entire rapperati.
Sensible policies for a jive talking free realm.

There was a really good documentary about Public Enemy on the Beeb a while back. During the interview with Chuck D, the subject of 50 Cent was raised.
Chuck D fired into a rant about 50 Cent and cited one particular incident in Australia (if I remember rightly) where Chuck D had first seen him live, out of curiosity. He recounted with vitriol how 50 Cent whipped the crowd up into a frenzy by getting them to chant "Ni-ga! Ni-ga! Ni-ga!" - the crowd mainly being made up of white youths.
He said he just stood there speechless, watching as decades of black rights were being erroded by a black man getting white men to chant the very phrase that was symbolic of their oppression.
Needless to say, Chuck is not a 50 Cent fan...

A total car nut! there was a good article in one of the mags about him recently with his new Zonda roadster S and some other beauties
Not just a rich rapper who buys the cars for the bling, but an out and out motor enthusiast who appreciates automotive excellence.
Ok , he maybe the exception to the rule.
I remember straying onto MTV once and seeing cribs with the rapper 'Fat Joe'
He had a brand new black 360 spider in his garrage, a really stunning car. Only problem was Fat Joe wasn't called Fat for nothing. He didn't even fit!!!

yeah he has some cool cars in his clips, an XJ220 and that Lambo LM002 off the top of my head, not your usual choice of a blinged up Escalade or Merc SL500.
Some of the UK guys are good...
Klashnekoff, Lewis Parker, Braintax, Roots Manuva (of course) and Jehst (bit of an irritating voice though) are all very good. They show genuine intelligence and thought in their lyrics. Over here, it's still all about observing society, politics, religion and other aspects of day-to-day life... It's just that the US stuff is so self indulgent and materialistic now that it really isn't worth paying any attention to.
Eminem is still good for a laugh though.
Klashnekoff, Lewis Parker, Braintax, Roots Manuva (of course) and Jehst (bit of an irritating voice though) are all very good. They show genuine intelligence and thought in their lyrics. I also find Eminem quite amusing, though some of his songs are god awful since he can't sing at all, like that recent one where he sings about his daughter, Mockingbird, that was appallingly bad. But he is at his best when he is taking the piss out of everyone else like his current song, thats very funny, but a lot of people don't seem to quite get it. Their loss though.

Nig-ger: Derogatory word used by Whites to insult Blacks. Unacceptable to be used by Whites or Blacks.

Take it from me, the "HipHop" culture is nothing of the sort. This "culture" consists of aspiring "artists" who go out and try to get arrested to get "street cred", then go on to banter about their shortcomings as both desirable and the product of oppression at the same time.?. Let's not forget the whole East coast West coast "thing" that these freaks use as a reason to kill each other in club parking lots, then put on some massive tribute to the worst shot (deceased), so ripe with heartfelt emotion, you would think that Jerry Lewis just announced a cure for MD. Alas, this is not culture or art of any kind; it is simple thuggery, trying to legitimize itself on the backs of real art through the language of "Ebonics"(Ebony Phonics). There are artforms that are extreme and people have a difficult time accepting, I understand this....and some will never be everyone's cup of tea. However, this "50 Cent" type culture is utter bullshit!
Well said that man, couldn't agree more. It's a pretty sad state of affairs when youths actually aspire to be in prison...On the flipside however....
