The story of girl that has donated her body to science and is the first public disection of a person.

For me it will be a painful watch as she was my friends daughter.

Ooof, Jesus that’s a bit close for comfort. Won’t be easy viewing.

Not sure I’d be watching under those circumstances if I’m honest.

I've dissected a body.

I really recommend you don't watch it.

Seriously, if it was your friend's daughter, why would you watch this? What a bizarre post!

Can’t think of any reason I would want to watch this no matter whose daughter.

Likewise.

Didn't they televise the dissection of a body some years ago, or am I imagining it?

Now you come to mention it, they most definitely did.

I'm going to watch as it's a part of my friends (that I don't see enough to be honest - live hundreds of miles apart).

I know it's going be upsetting, but they lived through it, and I hope to understand a little more what they went through. I may well have to flick in and out at parts.

It was that German scientist if I recall correctly. They plasticised the body first.

Seem to remember that. Was it linked to Gunter Von Hagens and his plastinated bodies?

Wikipedia: In 2002 Hagens performed the first public autopsy to take place in the United Kingdom in 170 years, before a sell-out audience of 500 people in a London theatre.[17] Prior to performing the autopsy, he had received a letter from Her Majesty's Inspector of Anatomy, the British government official responsible for regulating the educational use of cadavers. The letter warned Hagens that performing a public autopsy would be a criminal act under section 11 of the Anatomy Act 1984.

It’s the first dissection of a named donor, the previous one was dissecting an anonymous old lady.

Sounds like she will be narrating it too.
