Wedge misfire

Oh no! the wedge (350i 1989)has developed a misfire, at low revs as i apply load to accelarate. It will clear as revs build but struggles to tick over once warm and once it stalls it wont restart till its cooled down just cranks over flooding.
Any of you Guru's got any ideas.
Have checked HT leads,LT leads,Dizzy cap, all visible connections I am stumped.
Oil is clean as is coolant and not using any water.
I was hoping to get the car to Blueflame for its new exhaust fitted but cant take the bugger anywhere now.

Possibly the ignition module breaking down - black box of trickery bolted to the distributor. Typical problem with these is it wont start when engine is hot.

Thanks mate, were would i get one and is it just a bolt on jobby or does it need setting up?

Is it the box on the side of the dizzy with two spade connectors on the top? Any ideas how much?

Had self same symptoms a few weeks back from cold for about 3 miles all was normal then as it warmed up the car would be as lumpy as ****** below 2500 but above 3000 was as normal it appeared as if it was overfuelling once warmed up.
After 3 days of diagnostic treatment (plugs, points leads etc etc.) it was discovered that the throttle butterfly potentiometer was giving spurios voltage readings - they replaced it with a new item and all has been rosy ever since-until I broke the front shocks!

They're about £70. No setting just bolt on. I would suggest you find someone near you with a Wedge and try a swap first. Tim at ACT Products sells em

i see dickymint wrote a book on rover v8 injection systems.... why not ask him....he's really clever
