Factory Visit!

I was at the factory yesterday to see my Saggy in production.
Awsome place, anyone who has not been there must go!
My car is currently in final stages of body work, on the chassis and waiting for the primer then paint shop.
They are extremly busy up there, must have been 50 bodies out side waiting to be finished from Saggy to Tuscan II convertables. 10 layed up moulds, 15 being sanded, 5 in the paint shop, 20 going through the final fit out area.
There's a good mix of the whole range but a lot of Saggies.
The RC Tuscan II, just being finished is beautiful, the owner saw it on Monday, is it some one here?
The man hours on production are mind boggling. As an example there were 4 blokes wet 'n drying a primed car ready to paint, they can spend all day on one car before it gets the ok from QC.
This is my 3rd TVR and I am now 100% behind the mark. Yes they have problems, things go wrong. But the time and care put into building them is a true testiment to British manufacturing (as is set tea breaks and holidays).
They are not "kit" cars, they are precision made pieces of engineering.
Every car is unique, the boots and bonnets will only fit that car, and the people who build them really seem to care. If this was not the case they wouldn't still initial or put their personal monogram on the car body(Gary Newman). Even I have signed mine in the boot, because I could.
I can now also understand the delays people run into when they order a new one. If someing goes wrong they put them right!
If I can work out how to get the pictures out of my phone I'll post them.

If they hadn't cancelled factory tours I would have gone ages ago!!
Looks like i'll give it 10years or more when I've got the cash to buy a brand new TVR, and if the company is still running and they allow tours.. i'll be able to get in!

Sorry you will have to explain that I haven't a clue 
Guess I was lucky then, about 15 years ago, TVR had an open day in Aberdeen, got a test drive in the then new Cerbera, and organised a factory tour for me and my son.
Drove down one day, stayed at the little cheff/travel lodge near Blackpool, and had an absolutely fab tour the next day, just me, my son and the tour guide.
At the end of the tour, my son had a sit in a Cerbera, and was he excited when the next weeks mags come out and on the front of the mags was the one he sat in, as I said, it was then a new vehicle.
Just wish I could afford one......

The youngest member (12) of the Mid Essex Region has his own Membership of the TVRcc and being a fan of all things TVR was taken to Blackpool for a trip round the factory for his birthday treat.
He bought all his pictures and momentos to the next Meet to show me...he was thrilled.
It took him about 6 months of nagging his parents rigid before dad finally caved in and sold the mini and bought an 'S'
I'll never forget the look of glee on his face when he and his dad arrived at the Forresters in the TVR.
