Lotus V8 swapped into?

I just watched the Youtube channel of Number 27 (Jack) reviewing a Lotus Esprit V8 and it mentioned the relative weakness of the transmission to unleash the engine's full potential.

It got me wondering if anyone has taken a Lotus V8 and transplanted it into a different car, mated it to a stronger transmission and got the possible 500hp out of the engine?

They used them in AC Cobras for a bit. Don't think they increased the power output, though.

Lotus themselves used it in some of the Elise GT1 cars, tuned to 542bhp.

At least one DeLorean has had its engine swapped for the Lotus V8. Makes sense given their heritage.
