I just went on the Arval website to book a service for my 18 month old company car, and all the options were Halfords branches. Previously all servicing (and I’ve had company cars for well over 25 years) has been with dealers.
Is this something new and does it mean that a dealer service record is no longer seen as of value?

Main dealer records for run of the mill white goods cars add little if any value to a used car. Lease companies will always look for the cheapest option. As long as the car is serviced as per manufacturers recommendations using approved parts any vat registered company can service it, the warranty won't be affected..

Depends on the make and model as most £30k + stuff gets done at main dealers but most models don’t notice much residual difference as long as it had been serviced.

Why belittle any car as white goods

This one is £40K+ and the first service was booked in at the main dealers.

Because some people see cars and treat cars as exactly that.

In which case that would be about how some people see and treat their cars, and not about the make, model or value of the car.

What, as cars, do you mean.
