Adapters for slide hammers
Discussion
Hi,
I've got a stuck injector on my BMW, and a slide hammer - but they don't currently fit together.
Can anyone help me work out what adapter I should get?
The below is the slide hammer end, I think this is an M22?

It also has a reducing adapter - not sure what this is, maybe 5/8 UNC/UNF?

And here's (another) injector, pretty sure these are M14.

Any assistance would be much appreciated!
Cheers

Major diameter and thread pitch plus a few minutes on the web will tell you what threads the respective parts have. Then you need an adapter which has the corresponding threads. Slide hammers designed as pullers will typically come with a set of adapters. If yours doesn't, or doesn't have the ones you need, it might be cheaper to buy another puller that does. There won't be many applications that call for hybrid thread adapters so it could be tedious to find the magic combination you need.
ETA thread pitch can be measured using a thread gauge, or counting the number of threads over a set distance. There are relatively few variations in thread pitch in these sizes so it's usually pretty obvious which you have.

If you can find a nut to go on each thread I can mig weld a tube in between for you to make the adapter if you cannot find one…can do it by post…no cost.
I tend to take both bits to the local tool shop and try a nut on the threads until you find a fit…that is an easy way to find out the thread and get the bits you need.

That's very generous, thank you very much!I tend to take both bits to the local tool shop and try a nut on the threads until you find a fit…that is an easy way to find out the thread and get the bits you need.
I'll source some nuts and send you a message.
Thanks everyone.
