Getting off lightly?
Discussion
According to the Bucks free press. A driver was booked for doing 100 in a 70 on the A5, and got an £80 fine and 6 points. There was a £34 victim surcharge but the fine must have been a few hundred surely?

It's possible, low earner, income related fine less discount for an early guilty plea, there is likely to have been costs as well as the victim surcharge, so in the end probably not a lot of change out of £200 (Edited to remove scrambled cut and pasting)

Getting off with only 6 points for 100MPH instead of a ban is pretty lucky in itself.
I’d say it’s the normal. I’ve stopped countless people at over 100 and very few get banned (along a 70). 60s are more common to get banned at for 100+.

Still don't understand in this day and age why 100mph is worthy of a fine at all!
Because the maximum speed limit is 70mph. CarCrazyDad said:

Let’s be honest, half the population can’t be trusted to drive safely at 30 mph, nevermind 100 mph. Some people need telling what to do for their own safety. Everytime you hear about a collision, that’s why we can’t have a 100 mph limit
