Stories about anything unsolved fascinates me, UFO'S , Bigfoot,Yeti, ghosts etc.

Alaskan killer Bigfoot on Discovery has to be the worst so far.

Lots of 'what was that', 'did you see a shadow', 'what made those trees move', ' I feel something is watching us'.

The place is called Portlock island where there was a fish cannery that was abandoned suddenly, on their travels the programme team come across an 'obelisk' in the woods, lots of 'what made this?, 'what are these marks on it'.
Er? Bigfoot must have an NVQ mate, looks like a concrete post from the old cannery buildings.

It is terrible. Discovery Channel fail.

I enjoy watching Bigfoot documentaries, but only because they are so bloody awful.

There is one on Netflix called 'Discovering Bigfoot' which stars a man who films himself running through woods and streams in a ghillie suit, and just looks fking hilarious.

A YouTube channel with loooong programmes that discover literally nothing. "The jar of peanut butter is on the ground!!"... Yeah. You are in the woods. Squirrels, mice, etc, will do that! Small Town Monsters.

They are as bad as paranormal types who ejaculate when a bit of dust floats in front of the camera. "AN ORB!!"

S funny alien one is 'Aliens on the moon'. 'IT IS A BUILDING!!" It's a fking hillock.

Some of them are so bad they are good to watch?

They always end an episode with some big cliffhanger so we are on tenterhooks waiting for next week.

They never find anything
It’s like that one about buried treasure on some Canadian island. How on earth can they keep that going for about 7 series yet never find anything?

I've been watching Curse of Oak Island from day one.

I remember reading the self same Readers Digest article which started their quest whrn I was a kid sitting in a dentist's waiting room.

All 200+ episodes consist of the question

"Will this tiny breakthrough lead to the discovery of the treasure/Holy Grail/whatever?"

With the answer always a resounding "NO". They spent millions and found bugger all.

The new season starts in the New Year.

I CAN'T WAIT !!!! hehe

Most of these mystery documentaries are a bit disappointing, as you know they won't solve/find anything.

I did watch a series called Hellier though recently (2 seasons) and that was quite entertaining.

Just about anything of this type on Quest is utter grellecks!

The Conspiracy Theories podcast from Parcast is a much better bet,
Presented by people who aren't conspiracy theorists who look at the stories, examine the facts behind them, and subsequently rate the likelihood out of 10.

I've learned much about modern history from them.

Yep, like Expedition X.

Same every episode. Two people go into the jungle in search of bigfoot, mothman etc, with a truckful of fancy surveillance gear. Hear various noises, talk to six fingered locals and a few crytpto geeks, and take some blurry pictures of who knows what. A bit of talk about something being out there, whilst waiting for DNA results to come back from samples they found, which turn out be bear, coyote, bobcat, or whatever other animal you'd expect to find.

Always using those nightvision green modes saying "what was that noise" and never turning the camera in that direction and just keeping it on themselves.

Bigfoot is a right load of nonsense, never even a smudge of evidence.

The Curse of Oak Island is long and dreary with the finding of many ox shoes and banal trappings of an old wharf but one assumes the TV rights helps fund this endless search. Get sick of the "Could it be that this rusty old pin belonged to a Knight Templar" type wild speculation.

I prefer The Secret of Skinwalker Ranch which is slightly more scientific and does throw up some very odd phenomena.

It's the Alien programmes that I find far more compelling. Ultimately, whatever you think of the ideas put forward, it's actually far more rational and believable than religion is and are we pretty close to accepting Roswell as historical fact rather than fiction? There are far too many credible witnesses to dismiss the idea and the arguments are fairly based on logic as well as legend.

I stumbled on a good one recently of a US marine being taken out by a spear throwing cave creature in Afghanistan.

Would have been YouTube.

I live in Roswell and the last thing we want is for the 'mystery' to be solved. We make a stload of money from the tourists all the time they keep believing that it may be true. biggrin
(Look up Project Mogul if you want facts)
