M3 CS - Handling, Rear Wheel Drive, Sound Rarity
M5 Comp - Sheer Pace, Amount of Room, Xdrive or Rear Wheel Drive, Sound

Only you can answer that. Handling over pace.
I think the M5C is an extremely complete all rounder and the M3 CS is somewhat usurped by the G80 M3C, so maybe worth considering unless the look is a dealbreaker
Totally different cars, entirely dependent on how you intend to use them. I recently did 2500 miles across Europe through five different countries including Alpine passes with a boot full of luggage. M5 all day, just effortless. If you want blasts around country lanes and the odd trackday then presumably an M3 CS would be the better car. If you want to do both then for me it would have to be the M5C.

I've owned both. For me the M5 as much as I loved it was too big and too powerful, I can imagine it crushing continents though. Own a cs now and I absolutely adore it; just the right size and right amount of power. Handful in the wet though vs the M5 which would just teleport into the distance.

As has been said many times over, ultimate power does not equate to maximum fun, nor at all.
One car does it all - M5. Weekend toy, don't even think about it. M3 CS all day long. Or M2!
Really appreciate feedback and have to say its to replace an A45s so looking more like the M3CS......2 up for sale in BMW used network currently so in process of arranging to view both in person.
Will update and thanks to those who have mentioned other forums as resources have been great to do homework
