Any suggestions on a nice pub around Chichester to take the parents to this week? They live in Bognor and I live near Southampton, anywhere over their direction would be suitable. Thank you

The Dolphin & Anchor is good in West Street Chichester. Always busy. Reasonable prices.

It's a bit further out but The White Horse in Chilgrove is lovely.

Yes this! I was tempted to include it. Particularly as the likelyhood of heli movements from next door is slim this time of year!

How about The Partridge Inn at Singleton? Nice place for a beer, never eaten in there though.

Avoid the main high streets in Chi, they're hot spots for beggars. You can't really go wrong with any on the out skirts of the city.

The Fox Goes Free is nice. Has the Dolphin and Anchor been sorted out now? Used to be good for a punch up in there.

I drank and almost lived in the Nag Head in East Street for many years, great pub, good carvery too and a proper boozer with decent beer.

Still the same owners than when I drank in there 20 years ago too, still pop back when I can.

You're welcome. Go back in the summer and enjoy the garden backing onto beautiful countryside.

The FGF is one of my favourites, we live around 25 mins away and its lovely anytime of the year.

My old office used to be next to the White Horse in Chilgrove, I must admit I was disappointed with the food quality on a number of occasions.

I'm not surprised about the White Horse. My mates wife used to be head of food and bev there. Last year, my then GF and I went to their house for lasagne and it was the worst one I had ever had. Chunks of raw carrot in lasage?!

We ate there late October, food was superb - perhaps the chefs have changed.

More than likely, she left some time ago when she was just his house lodger.
