Given the entire UK allocation has sold out, many of us will miss out on an instant classic affordable Driver's car here. The GR86 came 2nd in EVO's 2022 Car of the Year - an achievement only the legendary Clio Trophy has come anywhere near in recent memory.

If, like me, you believe this situation is a crying shame - please add your name here if you would like Toyota to send us more GR86's!!

Sorry - nothing "affordable" has come 2nd in ECOTY - in recent memory (i.e., last 10 years)

You are probably better off petitioning the UK gov to relax the regs that are causing the blockage for Toyota and that will fall on deaf ears too since it will go against everything the gov are doing to look environmentally friendly with ICE bans; allowing a niche petrol sports car a stay of execution for 6 years is not going to happen.

Toyota UK have already asked Japan for more allocation (this was brought up at the dealer launch day, at Goodwood in November)

There is no news yet, but they did manage to secure more GR Yaris than was initially allocated to the UK, so there's hope!

Even if they do secure more it will be no where near enough to meet demand.

Applies for both the 86 and Yaris

Subaru are on the sly bringing a select number of BRZ's to the EU.

Mentioned it in the Subaru forum, but might be worthwhile petitioning and checking in with your UK distributor.

Great cars, do what you can to get one (within reason!).
