Is this road salt residue?

Is that greasy, sticky milky crap all over cars cars at the moment, and that the windscreen gets spotted with, the remains of the salt from last weeks frozen weather?

The roads round here were last salted several days ago and a lot of rain since - basically want to get out in my older other car but not if salty

Nope it’s splatter off about 2 miles driving on the A3 this morning, on a previously clean windscreen

It’s salt combined with general road grime. It happens.

It takes lots and lots of rain to clear the salt away sadly.
