Vantage touchpad desirable option?

Good afternoon,

As per title really. I am looking to buy a 2019 onward Vantage V8. I have found one which pretty much ticks all the boxes but notice from the photos that it hasn't got the touchpad in the centre console just a resting pad for your palm.

Would this be a deal breaker for anyone come resale?

As many AML electronics are sourced from Mercedes, perhaps my following comment might be relevant.

I am fairly sure that Mercedes no longer have touchpads in their latest cars.
So a touch pad might be deemed old fashioned.

Old fashioned is a term, that now sometimes only seems to take a few months to be applicable. -

I have the touchpad in my Vantage and also in my C63. I've never used in either car and find the click wheel or voice input better options. I'd go as far to say that it is a slight pain as its easy to slide a finger over it accidentally and mess up!

I use it often in my DBX707 but could probably live without (the touchpad not the car which is awesome! )

I specced it on mine and then hated using it.
In retrospect I even disliked the look of it right up to when I sold it.
No idea on resale impact but would suggest colour and other spec will have much more impact.
If the car you have found is otherwise perfect for you ,go for it !

Agree. I specced it on my DB11 because I was very keen on it but quickly found the wheel was quicker and easier to use. I think there is one on my DBX but I would have to go outside to check - if it’s there I have never used it ! I think for anyone who has had a modern Aston it would be a non issue to not have it. If you haven’t had one before I agree it’s the kind of thing you think is important until you have one so might put some people off. If the rest of the car is right I would risk it.

Never use it on my Vantage in any real anger and just use the wheel.

That said I rarely interact with the infotainment in general, the suspension button and S button get far more use.

The voice control with practice (and training - how old school) works perfectly as well now....

It's on my DBX and I hate it! The wheel is much easier, but the touch pad covers 80% of the wheel. I formally had a Mercedes, but their touch pad did not cover nearly as much if the wheel and therefore did not get in the way. Unfortunately, it comes standard on the DBX, so for me I would prefer a Vantage without it.
