MSW wheels, any good?
Discussion
Hi there, this is my first post, so something's bound to be wrong, corrections welcome
First off, a very merry Christmas from down under
I'm a guy who bends a lot of steel wheels.. so looking for an affordable 15x6.0, 4x108 alloy wheel, that looks ok, and can put up with some rally abuse. The MSW 85 looks decent, but has a load rating of "only" 580kg...and is obviously meant for the street. Speedline corse out of my budget for now. Regrettably.
Any ideas welcome.
Car is a mk6.5 XR4/ST150 Fiesta, same pcd as mk1 focus and Peugeot.
Very hard find stuff for fast Fiestas down here, most stuff has to come out of the UK atm.
Regards Robert

For rally you're probably best using OEM wheels if you can as they will be pretty strong (if heavy) - I believe a few Fiestas came with 15x6.
Yep, if you’re looking at aftermarket alloys for rallying, then you’re going to want forged wheels ideally as these will take a beating, but these obviously come with a price tag. If you search eBay often enough though, you may find a cheap set of used wheels. Otherwise, OEM is your best bet.Krikkit said:

Some Fiesta Mk6 and 6.5 were fitted with chunky 5 spoke 15x6 alloys.Ford fitted these with 195/5015's.
Mostly the Zetec & Flame trim models.
These are cheap used.

Thanks, yes that's roughly what I'm looking for, but short of a couple of sets with pickup only, 100s of kms away, I've drawn a blank so far.Ford fitted these with 195/5015's.

Certainly not as many fiestas and MK1 focus per square km down here.
Here's one of my current steelies, still holding pressure surprisingly

Wouldn't touch original Fiesta wheels for rallying....
Soft as melted butter.
Mk1/2 Mondeo would be ideal.
Good luck finding one of those down here! When higher powered rwd sedans a where the norm, no one wanted the poor old "mundano" much down here. Thanks for the idea though.Soft as melted butter.

Re competition steelies, I've never come across any, and I do know for a fact there are no in my pcd, as i've searched extensively. That's not to say they couldn't be made up, if I found the right company though... Oe steelies are lighter than than all the alloys i've got, so there is scope to have a steel that's strong(-ish) and still not like the automotive equivalent of racing in wellington boots.

...search alerts on Gumtree, eBay and Facebook marketplace.
Thanks, that might be worthwhile, I do check them all regularly though. It's a nuisance I'm so far from a major city, >400km to Sydney, a bit more to Melbourne, we're in the middle
That leaves just Canberra, just 150km away, so fine for pick ups, but with only a handful of wreckers, and not that many early fwd fords
