New Top Gear America
Discussion
Didn't see a thread here for this but it looks like Top Gear US is back. New presenters including a British motoring journalist and some actors.
I stumbled across 11 episodes from this year that are all now on iPlayer.
Watched the first one, it was ok. Nothing new but some nice cars in it and the one guy is quite funny. Probably better than the current UK offering and at just 1/2 hour, it didn't drag on. I reckon I'll give the rest a go over the festive break.

Watched one of these the other night. First impression was good, the presenters seemed OK and the premis (buy a car and "Hot rod" it on a budget) seemed decent. But then it all fell apart when they all spent the entire budget on ridiculous stuff and basically dossed around for the final "race". Waste of time.
Just to keep this stuff from polluting the Top Gear proper thread.
Have been critical of Dax and the motormouth side of things, but maybe that's just me and not appreciating the American outside voice/ inside voice thing, however the way he hustled that boat of a Cadillac durng the police Stig chase was impressive.
As was his personal station wagon, the Buick Roadmaster, so much love for that.
Next episode though, the one where they rescued "rally racing"
Essentially they just reinvented a s
ttier version of Rallycross.

I'm enjoying the lack of excessive dicking about and that the presenters seem to get on well without any of them needing to act like they're 5 years old. The whole thing feels calmer somehow.
