It looked wrong, even when it was moving. And WTF was that sound coming out of it? It souded like an Escort parping past. Wrong, very, very wrong

And what about the 'lady' who'd spent 20 frigging grand on that minging Corsa? WTF are these people thinking??!!

AGAIN, IT'S WRONG!

With that £20 grand you could buy a very nice car, a helluva lot faster too!

Oh well, they wont stop!

That "lady" who spent all the money on the Corsa was the lady that you lot were all falling over yourselves to say hello to when she appeared with pictures of her car on these very pages!

I think...... this was the one!

I was not around at that time so quite happily admit to not being any part of falling over myself to say hello to her.

If I was a member at that time, sure I'd say hello, but then we all do. I wouldn't tried to make out I liked her car though. It is just insane as far as I'm concerned to spend so much money on a frigging Corsa, it's still a Corsa, with an even less tastefull ineterior than my mums 1.2 'Vegas'

I'll let you off...

Just wanted to catch a few people out - as I know how this board regards the "Max Power" scene...

Should have probably let the thread develop really before posting that one.

Agreed, I wouldn't spend that money on a Corsa. But it is like a bug. I'm quite happy modifying my little Polo G40 you see, so I know how it gets. Chip it and modify the supercharger so it goes a bit quicker. Then a brake conversion to make it stop. Respray it so it looks as nice as it goes.. etc etc. In fact that Polo cost me 2700 and I reckon I've spent that again, if not more, in modifying it. You just keep going. And it's easier to spend that sort of money in bits and pieces than it is to fork out "£20k" or whatever the sum in one go...

And the reason for using a 1.2 Corsa was insurance. If you read when Donna posted on here, she'd love a TVR. But it's a little out of her price range.

I've just been reading it now. Suppose she ddid get picked on a bit too much. Poor girl never posted in any other threads. Wasn't your Tuscan on a TV program with Cosworths etc. possibly about street racing?

My integrale has had about £11k spent on it, still looks standard apart from the wheels and a little lower due to fully adjustable Koni suspension. What is does do though, is go very, very fast

Just want to say that I didn't spend all that money on it, 7k was by the previous owner

Fair play for what they do to their cars, after all it's your car and you can do what you like to it!

I just really hate it when everyone my age tells me what car I should get, normally golf, nova, and other cars like that!

That's not what I like doing, my first car was a Land Rover Series 3, FFS, get the message I DON'T LIKE CUSTOM CARS!

Ho hum, can't wait to get the Westfield out on the road, and meet some of you guys at a VW or trackday sometime!

I have seen the gold CARISMA Cerbie at our local TVR gathering, and whilst it's not exactlty my cup of tea you have to appreciate the time and effort that has been put into creating it.
The car is a rolling advert for all those people who choose to spend £20K on their Vauxhall Corsa, and I suspect that it does a quite successful job.
To the folks who own these Corsa's / Nova's and spend this kind of money on them, the car is to them at least, 'their' TVR Tuscan 'S' or Lotus Elise 135 Sport.
I find these cars interesting from the point of view of what can be done rather than what "I think" should be done. Good luck to 'em I say, everyone is different and it's whatever floats your boat! At least they don't seem to be the types who go past my house at 80Mph at 2AM like the local boyracer brigade.

Was it me or did it not sit right when going around the track? I presume the bodykit was wind tunnel tested if it's ever going to unlease all it's aledged power it looks like the weight in the boot and the picnic table on the boot lid are making the front light, and the noise didn't seem right, and it didn't even look that quick
And why did the interview take place with the seats reclined?

It looked completely wrong on the track. I seriously hope that is because of what the have done to the poor little fella and not just how Cerberas drive. It never looked planted, the back was too low, even when not under power, and you're right. It just looked slow. I've no doubt that Jamie Shaw is good at re-trimming seats and installing stereos, but I'd say stick to the Renault 5, a Cerbera is a hard car to improve, TVR done a brilliant job when they made it. The best way to imrpove it is certainly not add a bucket load of weight and shoddy suspension just to make it look low .

As for the sound, as I've already said, I thought it sounded like a frigging Escort or a Nova parping past. Not surprising given the size of the 'exhaust'. And as for the interview taking place reclined. They looked a tad uncomfy when they were going round the track. And did that wolf chap fancy Jamie Shaw or what? Because he certainly wasn't that funny

I was about to post some thoughts but they've already been said. I totally agree:

1. I nearly puked at the way he pronounced Cerbera.

2. The Cerb was rolling around the track like a fat bstard. Kinda sad, SORT IT!

3. Didnt sound good, i was expecting MEAN! It just sounded farty.

I wasn't impressed. What's the point in all the stereo gear? WHEN I buy a Cerbera, I'm keeping it as intended. This may be a few years away though...

Yawn! We've had this conversation before. The CARISMA Cerbera is a rolling advert for CARISMA, no more, no less.

Obviously full ICE / multimedia has no place in a Cerbera, but your rolling demo / advert car has to show everything you can do, not just what is appropriate to the car.

Peace guys.

Raceboy,

Agree - it seemed to sit too far down at the back and up at the front.... It certainly didnt seem well setup suspension. I understand that you boost up the spring rates at the front for FWD cars, but RWD you dont need to do this as much and therefore it shouldnt sit up at the front...

Suspect that he has just put some different shocks in it and expected it to be great (as most Max Power types do). Just changing it wont help - setting up is the most important.

Anyway, why wasnt the styling and handling of the original Cerbera any good? We all know that it is and therefore why mess with it? Its all lost on me. If I had £80K to spend I wouldnt modify a car....

Cheers,

Paul
