Ignition electrics
Discussion
This is not a happy one, but completely true...
My 1997 155 16V picked up some marks on the front alloys recently so with the help of the space saver from my other 155, I left it on space saver spare wheels on the front. I figured it would only take a few days, and I'd have the front alloys refurbished before the weekend.
My fiancee decided to use the car, and took it from outside the workshop-(unknown to me- anyway, she NEVER uses the car midweek unless its her turn to drive round town to the sports club).
The problem is that I didn't torque up the wheel nuts and just left them on enough to hold the space savers on.
Result- wheel came off.
Damage- broken wheel stud and damaged threads in drive flange. Brake disc has been flat spotted!!
Trouble is that as the car came down, the lights went out. There is now no power to anything which is through the ignition, even the dash lights. The horn, hazard lights and interior lights work ok, but nothing else.
Does anyone have any ideas?
Hopefully the morning will reveal something minor...
