The wackamole Mini reeks! Last couple of weeks, coinciding with the bad weather, when cold, there's a distinct odour somewhere between wet dog & mildew.

As it goes, I've had the interior out hunting down an electrical fault so I know there are no blocked drains or wet carpets, so I guess that leaves only the heating system. The smell goes when the car is warm, so what's the consensus on getting rid?

Renew the cabin filter!
...having sprayed it liberally with an anti bacteria treatment, then do as previous post.
And check the bulkhead air intakes for compost.

My clio had the same and it was a leak into the cabin. Initially no obvious signs, until a massive down pour and rising water when pressing the carpet.

You may still have a leak, I'd be putting a coat hanger down the drain holes regardless. Mine was coming in from the bonnet drain holes (water running off the top and windscreen), through the firewall and into the top of the footwells

Mines taken 3 weeks of sodden towels, heat guns, full heat when driving, and windows open to dry out, and today marks the day I put the sound deadening back in.
