WANTED- 4.2 DIPSTICK can anyone help?

My dipstick has disappeared, last seen in a picture on the way to the engine builders but now cant be found. This is holding me up now as im waiting to get it started up after a long 15+ years!! Can any one help Please

I can't, but I think there are two types, depending on whether it ends up at the front or the rear of the motor?... perhaps you need to specify.

I think there are 3 types. I think that 1 is still available new. The other 2 are not, so it is breakers or ebay. There is some suggestion that the very early ones (at the back of the engine) are from a Rover V8 possibly.

Sorry yes I missed that bit out… mine is a later purple one that goes from the back up to the front. Going to try tvr parts has they list one with out the fitting at the sump. But like you guys say I’m stuck with what size one I need has I don’t have one to compare to.
