Hello PH,

I have decided to give up my quest for a GT3 Touring and go all out for a 296 GTB.

My dealer tells me I can have his last allocation. Is this true, are they all sold elsewhere already? Thoughts on how to spec a 296 would be welcome as it’s easy to go a bit nuts with Ferrari….

(Sorry if this is the wrong part of the forum but I couldn’t see a Hybrid’s V6 Ferrari area).

There's not much 296GTB info from owners here yet but there are many on Ferrarichat who have received and described their cars - in the States dealers all claim allocations all gone - not sure if Europe is the same

I enquired to DL Swindon in mid October about 296 allocations. They were still available back then but it was implied I'd have to be pretty quick if I wanted one. Maybe sales pitch or maybe not ?
Ultimately decided I'd much prefer keeping my 812 as two Ferraris at any one time was above my paygrade.
If you keep off the Special colours and restrict Carbon to inside only, then you could get away with spending only £20-25k on options.

afaik GTBs are sold out, GTS may, may be available (or just taking deposits), but when I went to the launch a couple of months ago I was told they're teetering on closing the books at that point.

My Ferrari dealer called me on 20 December saying they are ‘closing the order banks’ on the 296z

Fantastic car! Not sure on the allocations but spec wise I have seen a few so far. Personally if it was me I would go for a 70's spec and and if you are a big guy stay away from the carbon skinned seats as they are not comfortable for getting in an out of.

I would probably go Giallo Fly, Silver Stipe, Black Comfort seats and silver wheels.

Giallo Fly

Rosso Corsa

Rosso Imola

that red car is stunning
I personally would avoid the stripe/second color thing - just have it in one color

The red is stunning, very Ferrari. But I don’t really want red…. I’m after a subtle grey. Probably Canna Di Fucile with chocolate inserts on black interior with Daytona racing seats. Spec to follow.

I’m off to Spain in a few weeks to drive on road and track. Should be a good place to see a few different specs.

Red looks good. The stripes look odd. Black wheels are to be avoided all IMO.

Fantastic car!

Took the 296 GTS for a few laps around Monteblanco Circuit as part of the Ferrari customer event for these cars. Superb machine, the handling is gorgeous and the amount of lateral G you can pull makes your face hurt. Very capable indeed! Also pleasantly surprised at the sound, in person it does sound quite lovely, albeit not as loud as something old school.

My first time on track, might be a bit embarrassing but have some video for those interested!

Cool experience all in, might have been bitten with the track bug too biggrin

Amazing wasn’t it. I did try to briefly look for you but there were a lot of people and I don’t know your real name.

I think I now have a spec, I like grey but I am tempted by dark green or maybe flat grey….

just be aware that if you do use the 296 for track days it'll cost quite a bit of money in consumables etc and could void the warranty if something happens and you mention it

Yeah, I don't think I have the cojones to try tracking a £300k+ car regularly. Well, cojones and wallet. I was thinking one of those 991.2 GT3s down at £130k are looking like a nice track option!

I definitely heard this on the cars during the road driving!

you won't regret having a gt3 as a track car, they are super solid and capable and it'll take awhile (especially from a beginner) to reach their limit and learn the car smile
