3 days of crap weather post Christmas and the cabin fever has set in big time.

That’s it. That’s the thread.

Assuming you've got young kids, if not you can pipe down biglaugh

There's only so much soft play and splashing in puddles you can do.

I try to hold some tasks in reserve for these lousy days of winter, but those tasks soon get used up!

In fact this thread has just reminded me of one - need to make a small repair in the woodwork under the sink in the utility room. What a thriller.

I’ve been off since the 21st and don’t go backcourt until the 3rd. In that time I have had 2 days with my OH and the rest have been spent looking after our 19 month old. I love her dearly but being cooped up indoors and my wife often working until 8pm is really difficult. It was the same this time last year when I had 9 weeks of parental leave. Mentally it was really tough.

I haven’t. I’d almost swap TBH.

My sleep schedule has already been screwed up, going to be at 2am waking up at 10am, getting back to normal is going to be hell.

Spent way too much time on here already. Yes, I get the irony involved in this thread…

Why not rustle up a tasty plateful of garlic chilli sprouts and bacon and wash it down with a delicious Winalot, Tabasco and Kale smoothie?

I can't imagine what it must be like to be bored. We are alive for so little time, why not do something interesting whilst you're here?

Sadly I have a terrible imagination. And I genuinely can’t think of what I want to to.

  • go the pub with mates - they are all busy and I have drink enough lately
  • fishing - not in this weather
  • photography - see above
  • wash the car - see above
  • watch TV - I shall probably end up doing that later, just the fill the time.
I went out and had 40 balls down the driving range on… the day before yesterday, literally no idea what day it is, and I went for a drive & a walk along a river yesterday.

My sympathies. It's weird this time of year, we've had a quiet Christmas with just the 3 of us at home, a bit of mild illness, and crap weather and it does feel like days have passed, and nothing has been achieved. I wish the Christmas break was in summer!

Brewed some more beer, racked some Merlot wine, sowed Northern Lights and White Widow seeds to get some clones ready for spring, trimmed a few trees and shredded the trimmings for garden mulch, designed a CDI ignition for my old tractor and baked some baguettes.
Didn't have time to get bored biggrin

Today I've
Been to a garden centre (not my choice)
Cleaned parents cars
Cleared out the inside of my van
Ordered some bike parts
Took the Xmas lights down off the house
Went to get 25l of concentrated screen wash.

Might paint some internal doors on NYD

Exciting times.

Similar. Christmas Day, Boxing Day, and the couple of days after we had stuff on, people to see, places to go. The last 3 days it has all just ground to a halt and I have done nothing.
