Evening all, picked up this beauty earlier in the week.
Had a great drive from Glasgow up the A9 to ullapool in snow.
It was like the Monte carlo rally!

2nd thing - congrats on the purchase, I'm very jealous as I've loved these since being a kid and watching them tear through rallies in the Lake District

3rd thing - any plans?

Thanks for all the kind comments!
I had never driven one before, but I always dreamt of owning one.
I must say it's quicker than I imagined it would be for a car of this era.
The turbo lag of eighties cars that was much criticised back in the day, gives it a bit of excitement! and probably makes it feel faster than it is.
Most worthy note is the steering on twisty Scottish B roads is beautiful and makes my old e46 M3 feel like a bus.
It also has lovely burble from the exhaust.
The negatives so far are the interior rattles, to be expected I suppose? Overtaking is a bit tricky being on the wrong side to view on coming traffic.
And pretty heavy on fuel, however it got a bit of attention at the fuel stops so that softened the blow.
Overall I am delighted and impressed by the drive for such an old car.

Very nice, I've seen a photo of this somewhere. The 17" Speedlines really make it.
These are one of the few 4 pots that sounds good with a performance exhaust and yes, the steering feel is legendary.
After you've got used to it, there are a few weaknesses. The springs are far too soft, and the overboost needs to be full time. The boost can be done easily and cheaply, and the springs can be replaced with the ones that Lancia fitted to the Final Edition and shorter bump stops.
If you want to explore the upper end of the speedo, the spoiler needs to be fully down, which will also help with MPG.

Thanks for the information on the overboost, it's on quality coilover suspension but I might soften them a tad. These are one of the few 4 pots that sounds good with a performance exhaust and yes, the steering feel is legendary.
