Anyone want to play a game this year?

Below is the 1969 I spy guide to cars. Total points, 1,450. How many can you see in 2023??

Rules:
-cars must be seen in person by you- on the road, in a museum, or your garage, fine. So a visit to the Vauxhall heritage centre will nab you a cool 100 points, But seeing images of the cars on the internet doesn't count.
-The spot must be of the same car in the guide- for example, it specifies the 911S, so a T or E is out.
-Good luck with the rare stuff- goodness knows where a Simca 1501GL is!
The most points is the winner. They win the satisfaction of winning, the admiration of the internet, and probably be seen as "ultra cool" by todays Youth

As someone of a ‘certain’ age, I have seen them all in period all except for the odd Australian and USA cars,
and have had personal experience of a few ….. but as to how many I’ll see this year ????

I had such an I-Spy book and even on a regularish run from South Wales 'oop North, late 60s, barely saw anything at all of any rarity so it got boring very quickly.

Isn't it with some of the heritage collection at Gaydon?

From where I live it's impossible to score anything at all, except for the odd 911, plus8, DS and maybe a Mustang...

AC 428 anyone?

Does having owned one count? I had a 1969 Midget for example and have a photo with the registration number. And do photos taken count? I've just done a back-up of my pooter and have almost 73,000 and my XKSS is a 1969 2+2 E-type on the V5 confused Or are we only allowed to count cars seen from the date of this thread forwards?

I think it should be a team game, where we all contribute.

My first contribution would be 30 points for the Aston DB6 in Desmond J Smail's Olney showrooms.

Saw a lovely one parked on the front row of the classic parking at Goodwood Revival in September, first time I've seen one in the flesh for decades.

Surely it has to be 'as from now', otherwise it would be I spied or I had: I guess the idea being how many are still around.

That sounds like a great idea!

I went to a car meet yesterday morning and saw so many that nearly fitted the bill.

Jensen Interceptor, but it wasn't an FF.

Jaguar 3.4 MK2, but no 240 and an XJ12 Coupe (with a manual gearbox) but no Saloon.

No E-Type Series Two 2+2, but a Series 2 Roadster and a V12 Roadster.

No Riley 4/72 - it was a 4/68.

No Hillman Hunter, but there was a Super Minx.

No MK2 Cortinas although there were three MK3s, and no Zephyrs just a MK1 Granada.

No Rover 2000, just a P6B 3500S (and an SD1 Vitesse).

But there was a MK2 GT6, two Fiat Nuova 500s and a few Mustangs - even if they were all post 2000 and mostly RHD.

Maybe that's a few points if it is a collaborative effort!

Don’t think I’ll have much to contribute, but will keep my eyes open for a Valiant Safari…

Series 1 XJ6 spotted yesterday. To be fair I spot it several times a week as it lives just down the road.

Most of the Brit classics can still be seen occasionally (maybe not the Reliant Rebel) but some of the others will require help from overseas PHers I reckon.

It is intriguing to see that the mis-spelling 'Miura' as 'Muira ' is not just confined to illiterate 21s Century classic car dealers...

20 points for a Rapier H120 is a bit mean - rare 'back in't day', can't remember the last time I saw one now frown

I spotted a Ferrari 330 GT between Christmas and NY - there seems to be much bearding about the differences between a GTC and a GT. On that basis could I please have 50 points? hehe
