Can anyone help? my car is stalling at junctions, when it does this it takes about 5 mins to get the car started! (embarrasing) there is no problem starting the car in the morning or even if I switch the car off and start again. This only seems to ocurr when the car stalls! Also the check engine warning light comes on intermittently i.e. goes on and off without switching the engine off! I believe the light is a common problem even when there is nothing wrong with the car but alas there is something wrong with this one. Can anyone offer any advice?

At all times, more importantly if you stall, you have to turn the ignition off, then on again but wait until all lights go out before attempting to start the engine.

Yes - you'll feel like a burk cos you're in a lovely car with a queue behind you as you fiddle about but just be calm.

That does it for me anyway.

Yup go to two clicks of the ignition and wait! before starting, if you just fire it up it'll get upset ::

You could just have something annoying like the oxygen sensor gone thats causing problems.

or it could just be poor clutch control (sorry!)

Some of our usual experts must be on holiday or you would have had more replies by now.
I had a similar problem with mine and took it to Karl at Verdis who sorted it after a service.
It appears that a wiring loom in the engine copartment can get stretched and or pulled causing some pinching and intermittant shorting of the engine management system.
Karl reached in grabbed a load of wires and yanked them a few times and that seemed to sort it.
As always its knowing where and when to yank and how hard. Good luck.
