DB9 heated screen
Discussion
Does anyone know how the heated screen on the DB9 is connected up? About 2.5 years ago, an allegedly well-regarded (other than by me) AM main dealer managed to damage the screen on my car whilst in their care, to the extent that they had to replace it entirely (but not until I pointed it out to them). Until today I'd never used the car on a day when I had cause to use the heated screen, but today was that day.
Switched it on, and the passenger side cleared almost instantly, and perfectly. However, there was a very defined line exactly down the middle of the screen, and the driver's side did not clear at all, not even a few random lines as some heated screens do. Only the blower cleared it once the car had warmed.
I assume therefore that there are separate wiring circuits to either side of the screen? And that the utter monkeys who damaged the original screen (along with a catalog of other pathetic errors at the time) failed to reconnect both sides when it was replaced? Does anyone know whether the wiring connections are readily accessible, and if so from where? Unfortunately for me, given the elapsed time since they messed it up, I doubt I'd get any joy from calling them, notwithstanding that I wouldn't let them anywhere near my car again unless I stood alongside them and watched every step.
Would be nice to get it sorted, particularly as I'm likely to have to use it several times over the next couple of weeks, as my daily is currently out of commission awaiting a replacement sunroof which randomly shattered last week.
Thanks.

On the scuttle below the windscreen and between the wipers is a small squarish plate held in place by 2 torx screws, remove this and the connections are behind it, the connector should be fixed to the back of the cover plate you remove.
Brilliant, thank you, I'll take a look tomorrow. Hope it's that easy a fix! Thanks again Paul, I got into this today and had a look. Longest part was trying to fiddle that plate out from under the wipers without completely removing them!
The flat tapes from the screen are there and are connected with what looks like a replacement short section of loom from the connector block to the tapes. There are a pair of flat black connectors with the tapes going in one side and the cables from the connector block on the other. Not fixed to the plate under the cver which you mentioned, I guess that becomes redundant with the replacement screen.
I should have taken a pic of the connector blocks, but they appear to be permanently sealed together? I tried a blade in the side but they weren't opening. Had a search but not found anything yet; perhaps if I can find replacements I can cut the offending one out and try to remake the connections to see if that fixes it.

To get to the plate easily, press the number 8 and 9 buttons together on the dash and whilst holding them in turn the ignition on, both wipers will then move to the vertical (service) position and stay there.
