308 on e-bay

Hi sorry for popping in on your forum ( being a chimeara 500 owner ( boo hiss, i hear u say lol ), butthere is a 308 on e-bay item number 4568991200, which i am very interested in, never owning a ferrari ( but always wanting one ) what kind of questions etc should i ben asking the owner, any help would be grateful many thanx Jez

Hello Jez, afraid can`t help much with your request about the 308, I know some of the early ones ( 1979/80)had fibreglass bodies. I suspect service history is a must and the cambelts condition critical.

Just took a look, as it`s a 308/GT4 it wouldn`t be fibreglass.

It looks staight enough but I personaly think the reserve (£11K ) is high.

The car is bad news for resale. He's listed it at least 3 times - whoever heard of a 288 GTO with a GTS top?????????????????????????????????????????????????????

There have been lots of 308s on ebay recently for reasonable money...whether in the flesh they are that good remains to be seen....I doubt they are....

Are you after a 308 GTB/GTS or a 308 GT4? do you want a fibreglass, GTB, GTS, carbbed, 2 valve injection or 4 valve injection? RHD or LHD?....

What's your budget?

With all due respect, do you have any knowledge about what to look for on these cars?

Hi Ruby, in all honesty i havent got a clue to look for, and i wasnt really getting rid of my car, but a 355 rep caught my eye on e-bay ( not the mr2 one lol ), we are thinking of doing a deal, then i noticed i could get a real one for about the same money, so one thing led to another, thats why i appreciate any help from you guys ( the people that know what they are talking about )

No probs - just wouldn't like to see anyone get their fingers burned. Well worth your perusing Ferrarichat.com and PH - use the search engines and you'll pick up a lot of good information. Nev Pugh's Fugazi website is a good plae to start re. 308s for example

great thank u for that, as i said not really looking, but if one came up with a deal for mine then i would be tempted ( i blame that bloody Magnum fella lol )
