Ex-demo pricing (Mazda3)

This Mazda3 popped up on my autotrader search:

Their website states it's an ex-demo car but only has 10 miles on the clock as was registered on 14.12.22.

So my question is, How much is a usual discount for an ex-demo car?

This car has a list price of £28,475 according to the Mazda configurator and this one is being sold for £23,990 meaning nearly a £4,500 discount for 10 miles on the clock.

I appreciate that being ex-demo, whoever buys it will officially be the second owner but this still seems quite a large discount to me.
But I'm not a regular car buyer and I don't know much about the car industry, am I missing something?

My understanding of demonstrator cars is they'll often list them up for sale in advance but cannot sell them until they are 90 days old by which it will definitely have more than 10 miles on the clock. Could be wrong though.

The 3 years free servicing offer seems a good bonus considering it will essentially be (lightly) used.

Also consider the manufacture date. I've bought pre reg in the past and got a good discount but the car was built 12 months prior and was therefore from a previous model year, one of the reasons it was a bit cheaper is that it had the older style entertainment etc
Also whilst I still got a great deal the rate on the PCP wasn't as good as the rate offered on brand new

Exactly this - often on pre-registered or ex-demo vehicles you won't be entitled to the low rate finance or deposit contributions which a new unregistered car benefits from.

ETA - I'd double check the mileage, too. If it is a demonstrator then the mileage could well be higher but the selling dealer hadn't updated the advert - seen this loads before.

I think the mileage will be wrong.
I've found another advert from the same dealership where the advert says 10 miles but the car in the pictures has nearly 2,000 miles on it.

So, I guess either the advert hasn't been updated or it's a cheeky way of making the car look cheaper/more attractive.

Either way, it's put me off that dealership.

If is a pre registered car with only 20 miles , I would say this is a pretty good deal. The service plan for 3 years is worth approx £600.00 . Servicing is every year or up to 12,500 miles with Mazda. It would start from the 1st registration date unlike BMW which is from the build date.
