For several reasons i can't VR.
i'd like to improve my sims experience and as part of that I'm looking for a new monitor ...

is it better to go for a large curved screen or to go for 3 separate flats on a stand ... i've even seen people using 42inch plus single screens ?

i know cost comes into it, but forgetting that - whats the best option ?

What floor space you got available will determine your best.

My own opinion is to go tripple screens. You can get a better fov than a wide-screen.

I've just picked up tripple 27" screns second hand year old for £225 tho I race in vr. I want to try tripples so I can use more functions on my wheel. But sim racing and flight sim rigs are very similar

I have three on a riser, 24s and used that for FS, however had to move the PC and left that as my work setup, got a 34 inch widescreen and that was better, teamed with two other monitors, one for the map and one for instruments.

Dont go for two monitors and split the flight display as you get an annoying gap right in the middle of the windscreen when the runway will be.

Ive tried multiple monitors and I much preferred a very large single screen instead, running 4k, at 50 or 55 inch.
Increase the FOV if you want the wider FOV for FPS games.
You mentioned sims... nothing (imho) beats a very tall and very wide screen for a cockpit or sim environment.
A 50 inch screen immediately in front of me is plenty wide as well as being - incredibly usefully - plenty tall too, so all sim controls, knobs, switches and sim stuff can easily be read/seen.
