Seem to recall these were about £60k new.
What would scare me more than the price is the engine imploding due to lack of use! https://finder.porsche.com/gb/en-GB/details/porsch...

Don't really see why you'd choose this, it's a manual 996 C2 man with a C4S front bumper and GT silver paint.

The '911' badging looks aftermarket and the wheels are shiny.

The brakes on this look rusty, I'm sure an OPC would be looking to change discs if it was a customer car going in for service.

And £60k would put you in a mint 997.2 C2S.

Have I missed a parrot? It's a 40th anniversary edition, all that is standard...

It is a lot of money, but I guess it's unique with that mileage. Whether these will ever be worth any more than they are now is, of course, debatable.

Seems probable that won't be a concern. Fair to say this isn't the kind of car that gets bought for driving? All the value and appeal is surely tied up in the low mileage.

At this point, it will scarcely be driven enough to have the chance to implode!

Dont forget the X51 power kit as well.
If I was in the market for a super-low mileage one of these I'd rather have this one and save myself £8k

Must admit I did like these when new but for me like the 996c4s don’t seem no more special than a regular car! And at £50k I would rather have a low miles 987CR/Spyder or if the market for a 996 save £30k+ and buy a regular 996!

Agree with that, plus the turbo/4S front bumper with the slats painted (rather than black as normal) looks very odd

It's also running the worst tyres ever made, so add another grand to change them all!

I'd argue the 40th Anniversary edition was a marketing spec car rather than a 'notably special model'.

It was a marmite colour and badge special.

A manual 997.2 C2S will be more desirable and a safer longer term bet.

I’ve owned a 40th Anniversary (40 Jahre) for a few years now, having had two vanilla 996c2’s prior. They are often misunderstood and really are a step up and v much more than the sum of their parts….think 996 GTS.

Selling my car soon, not quite a 11-12k miler, mine is on 34k miles so still pretty low miles but driven and maintained like clockwork! I’ve even got the luggage set which they often don’t have…

Some years ago I had a 964 Celebration which was the most ordinary car tarted up a bit with the wide body, fancy paint and unique leather interior.

Many people love a special edition, I now discover, and they are much sought after, especially in Germany. I sold that 964 for less than £20K and now, well looked after and with an engine rebuild at least, it would easily be worth 5 to 6 time that at least.

Maybe we are all overlooking the appeal of the special edition at our peril.

964 Celebration was a different beast as it had the turbo-look body without a turbo rear spoiler and Violet metallic paint.

Similar to the 911 3.2 Supersport which went before or production 996 C4S but as a limited model.

People love limited models if they are unique.

If it is the car in question on CC... is it not a bit strange that Porsche are selling a car WITHOUT full Porsche history?
