What is your favourite 'non starring role' character from a film or TV show. Mine has to be Patrick Malahide, 'cheerful' Charlie Chisum from Minder, he always had wonderful lines delivered with laconic perfection, makes the show for me. Any other suggestions?

Alan Tudyk in Powerless.

It's an ok show but his relatively small involvement raises it to genius level.

Steven Seagal in Executive Decision. Absolute Oscar winning master class in acting. Acting of this quality has not been seen since.

Judi Dench in Shakespeare in Love. On the screen for eight minutes, won an Oscar for it.

Great topic thumbup

Three spring to mind at the moment with probably more to follow…

Sheila from Detectorists. Doesn’t say or do much but can’t take my eyes off her.

Landlord from Plebs. Just something about the way he talks and delivers his lines.

Lord Flasheart from Blackadder. Rik Mayall at his best, totally stole the show and was only in two episodes and even then only for a few minutes.

Jeffrey Coombes doing his numerous Star Trek roles. Just a stellar fella.
Shran, Brunt, and Weyoun particularly brilliant!

So many in Ricky Gervais' Extras. All willing to have the pee taken out of them mercilessly.

George Michael springs to mind, Hale and Pace, former Eastenders 'stars' reduced to working in Carphone Warehouse, etc etc

Chisum is a fantastic character. Always thought Mrs Pumfry was superbly eccentric in All Creatures Great and Small.
