On Bournemouth East overcliff while son was sleeping and watching the storm parked on the left side.....BANG

Mirror on floor, a lovely 67 Tiguan plated car stops.....then probably sees me walking towards said mirror and then proceeds to continue driving off.

I got the number plate but missus was in the car and shouting so lost the first half, luckily bloke was also looking a bit further down and got the second half of the plate.

What is it with people for Christs sake, they must had been absolutely running up the side of my car nearly.

Funny thing is we went into bournemouth station to rise a crime record (useless but you never know) and I noticed the other bit of the mirror was actually the tt who hit me and my mirror was unscathed mostly.

I won't claim on this but just irritates me we share the road with this sort of idiot, MID/Insurers should have a database for this sort of irresponsibility as it costs people and nine times out of ten usually the non fault party.

It could be a scumbag database.
Those convicted of leaving or evidence of leaving the scene of an accident are banned from being insured ever again..

Do you think this will stop them driving? Or will it just increase the number of uninsured drivers?

Wrong.. (though that's what the OP originally thought. )..

.. other driver caught OPs car, knocked their own mirror off and drove off.. . OPs car largely ok....

I'd love to know whether the other driver realised they'd lost their own mirror.. I presume so..

OP's car was damaged , it doesn't matter by how little. The other driver left the scene..

It's almost as though 'Allo 'Allo's Officer Crabtree is recounting a lucid dream.

Son sleeping, storm parked on left hand side, wife shouting, bloke watching, walking towards mirror on floor... wtaf! rofl

Sounds like an awful amateur poetry event I was once forced to attend.

It isn't unexpected, last time I drove up the end of East Overcliff and a bunch of "Eastern European" looking folk had a campfire going out of a Tesco trolley.

BTW anyone It was my wing mirror...not the rear mirror if you are that thick and can't work out what I meant, writing on mobile can be a PITA sometimes.

Tiguan must have sacrificial mirrors - I was driving ours and had a country road mirror clash. Other car stopped and apologised that she swerved around a pothole.

Tiguan mirror cover and frame smashed - her Hyundai mirror was undamaged.

But in my defence, I was vey, vey, drunk.
