Hi good fellow loons.

My old style headlights need new refectors but I cannot find any from the usual sources, does anyone have any idea how to get hold of some?

Cheers

Having checked a few suppliers it seems that there is no stock for these items anymore and the only option is to get them re chromed.

Some of the quotes for doing that are eye watering at £300/reflector.

Look after you headlamps chaps.

Didn't someone convert to Lupo lights?

Yeah they are a direct replacement for Chimaera/Cerbera headlights. Look a bit odd though

There is definitely one LHD Cerbera, but that's not going to work for most of us

I presume the idea is to disassembled them to get the reflectors out, the silvered parts. They are only sided due to the ridges / lenses in the glass I think? My last Chimaera had the Lupo lights fitted by the previous owner. They worked well but I wasn't convinced by the appearance, I agree they looked slightly odd.

Fair point, I missed that.

Here you are then...

Or...
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/155356819467?mkcid=16&a...

My point being, it doesn't look all that difficult to find replacement units.

Left hand drive only and it would mean two lenses the outer correct one and the incorrect one attached to these light units.

The work to make them fit and align correctly would be hours meaning very expensive to get them fitted.

It isn't difficult to DIY. I also don't see why those units would be difficult to fit, they're identical in size.

The standard lamps are 5.75" in diameter, an unusual size. The second set you linked are 7" so it would be a bigger job that just replacing. frown

Sportmotive did a conversion to the Mk3 7" but not sure if they still do:

If it were simple, there wouldn't be so many threads about them!

Are they? My apologies. I was working from memory. I didn't actually go and measure.

There do seem to be some 5.75 units on Ebay, but as you say, might not be a straightforward fit.

I've had Chimaeras and an early Cerbera and I presumed they were the same but perhaps not. scratchchin

The lack of availability, even when new in 2002 onwards must have helped persuade TVR to change the front lamps.

Why do you need new ones? could you not just get your ones resilvered?

Been trying but it seems no. All the specialist plating companies I can find no longer do it.
