Thinking of getting alloys refurbished and wanted to get calipers painted too. Not sure on what color though. Suggestions appreciated.

Options being considered: Silver, Black, Red, Aqua, Blue, Orange, Yellow, Green

got any other coloured accents on the car? if so, match it to that. if your car is just a sea of monochrome, then i'd probably go for silver.

alternatively, whats your favourite colour? black goes with pretty much anything, though given its a mercedes and not a lamborghini, i'd stay away from fluorescent yellows and greens - a dark red or navy blue would add a splash of colour while staying classy.

The disc rotors are tiny compared to the alloys so an unobtrusive colour scheme on the callipers as to not draw attention to the fact the rotors could fit behind a 15" wheel.

I think I'd leave them as they are.

Black. With a subtle MB sticker on them

Definitely this. Colours are great if you’ve got 16” dinner plates and massive calipers, but highlighting tiny saucer-sized discs looks crap. Just smarten up in silver or black.

Genuine question for those who have had them painted.

How often do they have to be redone?

Get them powder coated and they'll last forever

if you can choose any colour, get a dark primary colour, tho I haven't seen anyone do it, I always thought it would look quite cool without standing out too much. ie dark red or dark blue

Exactly this. Anything bright would be risible.

My inner child says orange because I love orange and black on cars.

But my sensible logical grown head says go for silver, they'll look nice against a fresh set of wheels and maintain the overall aesthetic.

Perhaps if the OP posts up a picture of the front brakes it might help?

Those are the Front breaks. Also I tend to get alot of orange rust on rotors. Any suggestions on how to avoid?

C220d?

Upgrade to at least the C300 brakes. I'd just leave them standard colour. Anything modified on that sort of car will put off future buyers.

Paint the unswept parts of the discs, i use black paint for this as well as calipers because build up of dust etc won't show like it does on other colours and it looks proper against the clean metal colour of swept parts of the disc, colours other than black tend to look a bit council, ie found on 20 year old Golfs and alleged supercars of questionable taste.
Discs will naturally rust over quickly following a wash down, the only cure for this is a short run to dry them out if it bothers you.

It’s a bit like those bodybuilders who skip leg day opting for some foff red leggings.
